Como se dice en el Ofrecimiento que prologa el libro, éste es una nueva antología de notas que van desde 2005 a casi todo 2008, y que, por lo tanto, he tenido que reducir en número, y con frecuencia acortar. Nunca se sabe si esto es para bien o para mal, pensando en el eventual provecho o disfrute del lector, pero así lo he hecho.
El título bajo el que se publican, Los cuadernos de Rembrandt, no significan otra cosa sino que uno de los cuadernos de las notas de esos años que, por cierto, compré en la Casa-Museo de Rembrandt, en Amsterdam, y del que luego he guardado las tapas de la encuadernación tras quemar el manuscrito como todos los demás, reproduce un grabado del pintor.
Al igual que en Advenimientos, que fue la entrega anterior en esta misma editorial, también se han conservado algunos de los poemas que había en esas páginas; y al igual que en todos las anteriores antologías de notas, lo que me atrevo a esperar es que haya gentes a las que estas páginas sirvan para algo; las haga reflexionar lo que en ellas lean, o simplemente las suponga un placer o las invite a una sonrisa o a un desacuerdo. Esta esperanza siempre resulta ser la razón decisiva para añadir todavía una nueva publicación de mis notas.
